Summer Shootout Results!

Results of USPPA Summer Shootout at California Billiard Club, Mountain View, June 20-21
89 players @ $50 plus $1,000 added by California Billiard Club.  Total prize fund: $5,450
This was the 23rd time California Billiard Club has held a "Reno style" USPPA tournament.
For years it was held as a "Reno Warmup" but now, even with no Summer event at the Sands
in Reno, the tradition continues, and this time we drew 89 players. Among them were 15 players
with averages of 100 or better and six new members playing their first USPPA event.

It was a two-day event that brought back the 24 money winners on Sunday. All matches were
race to eight using 100% handicap, on a double elimination board. It was my pleasure to run the
tournament, and even though it was not error-free on my part, the glitches were more amusing
than troublesome. Spectators were treated to an interesting side show as the championship
match began -- a One-Pocket match with Santos Sambajon and Tony Chohan.
